of background:- Assisi
Province Thrissur immortalized its
Golden Jubilee Year when it opened its first mission house outside Kerala at
Agra in St.Peter's compound on 26th July 1960. Thus FCC paved the
way for other oriented Congregation to open their house in Latin rite of
Northern India. The Arch Bishop of Agra Most. Rev. Dominic Athanide OFM (Cap.)
who invited FCC to serve in his diocese obtained the permission to work in
Latin dioceses from the Holy See through the Apostolic Letter "Beneplacetium
Apostolicum" Seven
sisters (the pioneers) under Mother Christina Ventured in to the Northern
India. They stayed in a house accommodated for them in St. Peter College
compound. They extended their services in caring for the junior boys in the
Hostel and also were in charge of Cathedral Society. Gradually they started
teaching in St. Peter's College junior section -At present they manage St.
Felix Nursery School and St. Alphonsa Special School for Mentally
Challenged. Fields of Apostolate:-
Education - St.
Peter's Primary Section. St. Felix Nursery School. St. Alphonsa School for Mentally Challenged. Social Work - House Visiting Catechetical Work- Teaching , Catechism ,Cathedral Work.
